SMILENOTE / MCP

AI Notes with MCP. Your agent, your local workspace.

Ask a compatible external agent to create a multi-day plan, organize reference cards or edit existing notes. Smilenote Pro provides the tools, not a built-in AI model.

  1. 01

Open Pro and choose your client.

On Today, select Connect Agent, then Codex, Claude Code or another client that supports local stdio MCP.

  2. 02

Configure and restart the external client.

The app can add the MCP entry for Codex or Claude Code; it backs up the configuration first. Other clients receive copyable configuration. Restart the client and review its tool permissions.

  3. 03

    Ask for something concrete.

For example: “Use SmileNote to create a fourteen-day reading plan, with a 25-minute focus task each day.” Keep Pro open while the agent works.

  4. 04

    Review before changes are saved.

Pro shows a desktop preview for create and edit requests. Confirm to save or cancel to keep your workspace unchanged.

Read access is a separate permission.

Connected agents can read tasks, note bodies, project relationships and attachment links through tools. Reads do not necessarily ask for confirmation in Pro each time. Check permissions in your AI client.

Local connection does not mean local AI.

The external client may send retrieved content to its model provider. Internet access, accounts and AI fees depend on that client. Do not connect sensitive content you do not want to share.

A connected badge is not a promise of completion.

It indicates an active local MCP channel. Client versions and permissions vary. Store-installed execution aliases and each real client must be tested in the user’s installation.
