SmileNote Free also keeps its notes and settings locally, offers local JSON exports and has no built-in cloud sync or MCP integration.
Smilenote Pro stores notes, tasks, projects, reminders, focus records, imported images, file links and settings on your device to provide its features. This may include personal information you enter. No PaperFrame account is required, and the app does not automatically upload this content to PaperFrame servers or use advertising or behavioral analytics.
Imported images may be copied into app storage. Document, audio and folder cards store names, types and paths, not copies of their original files. Windows opens the original on your request. Paths may contain personal information; review them before sharing exports.
A configured external MCP client can read tasks, note content, project relationships and attachment links. Reads may occur without a separate in-app prompt each time; check client tool permissions. Create and edit requests require desktop preview confirmation. The external agent may send retrieved content to its service provider, whose policy governs use, retention and international transfers. Removing the connection stops future access but does not withdraw data already received.
Windows Store licensing APIs check Pro purchase status, and necessary license state is stored locally. Microsoft handles purchases, payment and account services under its policies. PaperFrame does not receive your payment card details or Microsoft password through this app. License checks do not upload note bodies.
You control local content and exported backups. Cloud folders and Windows backups may transmit files according to your chosen provider and settings. Deleting app content does not erase separate exports, original linked files or third-party copies. Uninstalling may leave data behind. PaperFrame cannot recover local notes from a server copy.
Protect your Windows account, device and backups. Notes and export files are not represented as end-to-end encrypted. Grant external client permissions carefully.
This static website uses Cloudflare hosting. Delivery and security services process technical request information such as IP addresses and request details under Cloudflare’s practices. We do not add analytics, advertising, session replay or tracking pixels. Optional language and market preferences are stored only in this browser; clearing site storage removes them. They do not determine your Store purchase region. External Store and documentation links open services governed by their own policies.
When you email support, we receive your email address, message and attachments to answer and investigate your request. Share only necessary information. You can ask to delete information supplied in support communications, subject to applicable retention obligations. Contact PaperFrame at smilenote.app@outlook.com.
